I now have an iPod (nano, silver) and associated toys.

If I were going to do a podcast and you were actually going to listen to it, what would it be about?

Also, if out of boredom and the fact that I love to read aloud, I recorded some of my fiction (both orig and fanfic), would anyone be bored enough to listen?

For my own amusement, is there a way to make text files readable on these gadgets?

Meanwhile, strangers on the subway kept thumbs-upping my Torchwood t-shirt.

What exactly is on the t-shirt..?

And I'd be interested (not bored!) in listening. :)

Just the T from the Torchwood Institute logo.

Also for you, if I feel weird and ambitious, I might record the infamous letters from the infamous unfinished fic.

Most definitely.

Based on what I've heard from your voice posts, I'd listen to pretty much anything you wanted to put in a podcast. The only thing I'd make a point of asking for is to slow down a bit in talking speed. In short bursts you pack a lot in, but in a podcast you're pretty much playing to an audience that's multitasking, and it can be difficult to pay attention at length in environments like a subway car or in Whole Foods.

I request going back and reading to us all your fencing posts. That would be bliss.

Hahahah. I might (fencing)..

Actually, I'm much slower as a performer. Wat you've heard so far is me babbling into my cellphone.

It looks like you might be able to include text to read along with if you treat them as lyrics and embed material that way.

1. I would give it a shot! ^_^ I really only listen to knitting podcasts, but hey. :)

2. I'd be really curious about your fanfic. Also, have you heard of the podfic archive at all?

3. There totally is! Here's one link to a converter. No support for italics, etc. (that I know of), and you're limited to 4kb per textfile. But you can link to other text files within the text files, and I think that converter will add auto-links from one file to the next.

Count me in as someone who would listen to a recording of yours. Also, if you'd like tips on podcasting (adjusting audio quality, editing, iTunes) feel free to give me a poke. I don't know everything there is to know, but I might be able to point you to some helpful resources.

I haven't kept up at all with your Descensus work. Do you think that might make an engaging read. I know I do find your essays to be particularly powerful, and I imagine that some of those would work really well when read aloud. My personal preference is for podcasts that range between 20 and 40 minutes in length.

yes, I would listen. that would be so nice to my throat - I've been having mommy guilt for not reading aloud while nursing to this one as it is.

If you were going to do a podcast that I'd listen to, it would be about psychoanalyzing Doctor Who. Because that's what I'm obsessed with right now.

I heart the idea of podcasts of your (fan)fiction.

welcome to the pod. you have been assimilated.

I used to download lots of podcasts, but honestly, I never listened to them. I'm lazy.

I've never listened to a podcast. I know. A whole world out there I'm not paying attention to lately.

I like the idea of podcasts about the LJ advisory board election. Also, reading of stories is awesome.

Yeah I stumbled on one that discontinued years ago. For the recrd, I just did a recording of my Face of Boe fic and am working on uploading it. Although I bumbled one word on it, I recordeed it like six different times and the one I am uploading is the one that is _right_ and has at least that preternatural feel of art when it's other. So there's six minutes of amusement for you.

I like to listen to fiction-on-tape at work. I've often thought of starting a site for "fics on tape", but I just don't have the time to do all that recording/editing of the audio files. It's a lot of work!

I would happily listen to it (whatever it was, of course I am especially interested in how you came to be who you are and fan fiction.) I love my ipod nano. Very Much.

Was my promotional journal post all right? If there is anything you should like corrected, just let me know.
