Rural Sicily was a lot more rural and isolated than expected.

May I ask where you're from since I've just spent the last week being alternately confused and terrified by driving there (and I was just the passenger!)

Hello. *waves* Heh, driving is 'risky', but I learned to drive there so I'm used to it. It makes driving in the city look like child's play. I'm from Augusta smack in the middle between Catania and Siracusa on the east coast.

Oh, okay. That was sort of the edge of where we were (we flew into Catania and were only in Siracusa briefly to see the theater there. We spent most of our time near Comiso and took trips to Noto, Catiglirione, Modico, Ragusa and a whole lot of random, tiny places in between that we often found merely because we were lost.

OH poor you, the roads in the Ragusa/Modica area are probably the worse we have, save for Trapani. I feel your pain. *hugs* I'm glad you're safe again.
