I, in general, and I when I've got any muses going on at all should never be allowed in the stationary store. Ever.

Although I suppose my incredulity at the lack of airmail paper (and the sales clerk having never even heard of such a thing) was probably at least funny.

New stationary. Pale grey/blue and cream and chocolate brown.

Spindly girl handwriting aside, I am such a boy.

Save me.

(seriously -- Ianto Jones -- coffee. ties. stationary. although the airmail paper (bleh, everything is so made of fail) was totally a Jack thing (but you knew that, of course.))

Also, it's all entirely [livejournal.com profile] airspaniel's fault for introducing me to John Barrowman singing Tell My Father that I want to take voice lessons again. Alas, I've learnt once and for all I don't really have the nerve to sing in public, so you all are spared, but it is a pity.

Also, must finish my cracktastic Torchwood FST and then write the most depressing fic about Jack ever (yes, somehow I've found a way to top the Face of Boe thing, although it's on the same theme).

Stationery stores are dangerous. We should go shopping in them together, so that we have each other's backs (and possibly wallets).

I miss reams of onionskin being readily available, myself.

I just called Bob Slate, Stationer about airmail pads. He said, "We don't know anyone still making them in this country, nor importing them from Europe."

A sad statement on an already dying art.

If Slate can't find 'em, no one can.

Except....

Patty! In Syria!

You can also buy them from lots of British sites and arrange, ironically, international shipping.

Heh. I did find this thread on the subject, which was at least vaguely amusing for it's inclusion of trivia regarding WWII stationary conventions (hi, watch Torchwood, please!)

This is such a stupid fixation, but I suppose I need the distraction.

Wow, I totally referenced a thread and didn't post the link, didn't I?

Speaking of stupid. Heh.

Torchwood on the brain!

I should watch the new Doctor Who first.

Yes. Although I didn't. The seasons sort of interweave with each other (so you have to watch season 1 of Doctor Who, but then you can watch season 1 of Torchwood, and then you should really go back to Doctor Who for a bit). It's sort of weird.

Sorry, I tend to forget that I'm wearing my enabler hat sometimes. Also, I may or may not have scanned the greater NYC area karaoke catalogs to see if anyone had The Civil War in house, as part of a plan to lure you out with [livejournal.com profile] redstapler and myself.

...I was thwarted. Guess I really am one of five people who liked that show.

So you're safe. For now. ^_~

I'm sort of disappointed. Which alarms me.

Also the saddest fic in the world is in response to that discussion we were having yesterday.

Yeah. I'm hoping to finish it tonight.

I really didn't get into this fandom to be a moody bastard, but there it is....

Meanwhile, to enable you back, my friend [livejournal.com profile] rothko just got this espresso related thing (http://rothko.livejournal.com/388099.html) that I think looks obscene and would make a great prompt for a Torchwood fic.

I meant to comment on your post earlier but then life ate me. We actually just found airmail stationary at a Japanese market near our apartment. It's a kind Japanese equivalent of a dollar store and they've got all kinds of things. If you'd like I can certainly pick you up a packet the next time I'm there. :D
