Cool deal. I can't wait to see what you wrote in about; whatever the subject, I'm sure your letter will be very eloquent.

Well, it's funny to me, because I send them letters all the time, usually on pretty serious stuff. But it's, of course, me blathering about pop culture that turned them on.

My parents are going to have a cow though.

Haha. I've written the Times all the time about serious stuff, too, and last year they finally published one about ... wait for it ... spam.

In any case, cool deal indeed.

Spam text messages, if you can believe it (and for which I was charged).

Haven't yet had the opportunity to sample spam the "food", and I'm okay with that.

The Russians still use 'canned spam' as a pejorative, which goes back to U.S. aid during WWII

That's an up and coming Federal campaign issue in Canada.

Excuse my provincial ignorance, but is having a cow a good sort of thing, or a bad sort of thing, in this context?
From: [identity profile] rm.livejournal.com
Bad. Very Bad.

Because my mom isn't really going to appreciate me coming out in the New York Times because of an intergalactic bisexual space pirate.

Uh-oh. What will the neighbours think? Phasers set on guilt.
Oy!
Vey!
Still, pretty jazzed for you though!

Irrelevant historical note:spell check understood 'jazzed,' but I had to add 'phaser' to the dictionary. Because the world has only been known to every English speaking person for forty years or so.
