Last year on the Fourth it rained, and I wrote this very odd thing about watching the fireworks alone from the pedestrian bridge near my house.

This year looks like it may well be exactly the same. Most interesting to me? Last years odd piece strikes me far more like the sort of fancy I'd take to this year.

At least in the smaller centres (pretty well the whole country,)fireworks in Canada are still done by pyrotechnics technicians, men and women still partially improvise the performance, based on the vagaries of the wind and of the crowds reactions.
