* I will have books on-hand to sell at the conference. It is also possible that some of the stores in the vendor's room may have them, but I don't actually know.

* Please note that I have a critical business obligation immediately following my religion panel and will not be able to stick around and chatter afterwards, but otherwise am always open to folks schmoozing.

* I will probably not be cosplaying very much, because the meta gets too weird for me when doing those sorts of presentations, and I don't actually particularly feel like a broken-hearted 16-year-old boy these days. I will be wearing a fabulous black backless gown to the ball, and I will be donning the Jack drag at some point for something, but that needs to be coordinated with my other TW partners in crime. Realistically, as I have a bevy of blue and grey fabulousness these days and those clothes are killer comfortable, this may happen more than that.

* Please remember I am an introvert. That doesn't mean I'm shy. I'm actually incredibly gregarious and like being the center of attention. But it also _exhausts_ me. If I seem like I'm flagging or note that I have to escape, trust me, it's not personal. I just get worn down. Because if it is personal, oh trust me, you'll know.

* If you can't find me, check the pool, where I'll probably be lounging and frantically trying to complete my presentations.

* If you need to reach me at the con and do not have my number, use the paging function in my LJ profile and tell me who you are and your number and I'll call you back.

* My name is pronounced Ra-shell-lean. You may also call me RM. The only acceptable shortening of my name is Rach, but if you don't already know me in person, I'd appreciate you asking before you use it, because I am formal and weird like that.

Anything else anyone needs to know?

Thanks for the pronunciation reminder.. I might have reverted to using RM otherwise, just in case ;)

Can't wait to see you.. Kelly and I will certainly check out some of your presentations :)

Have fun!

I'd wondered how your name was pronounced.

I don't know if I actually told you this but I am technically the room coordinator for the dueling/curses track programming (10:45-1:00)which includes your paper.

I couldn't stop myself from volunteering when they seemed so desparate for help.

True thing: Beth and I, when we talk about you (since I read LJ more than she does, I tend to update her on what's up with everybody), we always refer to you as "reive" (pronounced like the first part of "reavers" -- oh, Firefly I miss you). Just how gross is that for you? Really really gross, or just kind of gross? (The goal here is: Not gross at all. Therefore, if this doesn't fit...)

I do ask people not to do it, but it's also not a big deal. I mean, it was my name for ten years and it's a good solid syllable and it's a hard habit to break. I only get really touchy about it with the Mindvox crew, because there it carries a heavy set of assumptions and power issues that don't just involve me but involve the people who would call me that and in those cases, it's a habit that needs breaking. For people from LJ or the rest of my life then, it's jsut a thing. And at least I know you're talking to me when people do it. It's when people call me Rachel, that I'm like "who the hell is that?"
