Y'all know I'm not a fan of Hilary Clinton.
I think she's generally a lousy speechmaker (making statements into questions as women too often do and as someone of her level in politics has no excuse for not having erradicated from her vocal repetroire), have problems with her tolerance for some of Israel's shenanigans (and I support the existence of Israel! Their government just appalls me with frequency), think she and her husband used the gay community and then sold us out, believe much of her campaign strategy for addressing the woman factor was, in fact, insulting to me as a woman (although I am admittedly atypical), think she's always been an inconsistent mess on Iraq and worry about many of her economic positions. Etc. etc. etc.
All of that said:
That was the best speech I've ever seen her give. It was one of the better poitical speeches I've ever seen anyone give. Parts of it nearly moved me to tears. She did right and she did well, and it was FANFUCKINGTASTIC and marks the first time in a very long time that I'm utterly thrilled she's on our side.
Really great oratory. If she'd let herself be that person in the campaign, she might be speaking on Thursday.
