Can I just say how frightening I find the Republican convention?

Open religious hatred and chants of "USA" that sound angry rather than proud. I am sincerely, sincerely, completely creeped the fuck out by this. I wish I didn't think it sounded high strung when I say I feel unsafe listening to this shit.

Maybe four years from now the Republicans will nominate a Muslim, and then whenever the candidate gets any kind of criticism, the party will angrily accuse the Democrats of religious prejudice.
