Speaking of which, dude, I see you went to the Who cosplay panel. What was that Jack's solution for his coat (not that I can even tell which one that was from your pics)? And yes, you should go to Gallifrey One.

Eventually, I'll post my own rather limited photos which include one really good one of James Marsters, a couple of mediocre ones of GDL, a funny Ten/Rose cosplay moment and some weeping angels. I was lazy with my camera.

Hey, there was an NC-17 fanfic panel? That sounds like fun!

*has no idea what goes on at cons*

There was. On the Young Adult track. It was ostensibly about HP fic, but ranged into Supernatural (about which I know nothing) and Torchwood (which was mostly my fault) a lot.

At one point, someone asked the panelists how we deal meeting the actors who play these characters we've written such dirty things about.

At which point after saying something sensible about how I'm pretty inured to it because a lot of my life involves dealing with actors since I'm one too, I noted that it was very hard for me not to be thinking "mauve panties" all through GDL's first panel.

As you might imagine, things went downhill to hell fast from there.

*laughs*

Mauve panties and... watermelon? lip gloss? That wouldn't be half distracting.

Well the best part was someone was all "I read that fic!" which was pretty funny.

Also funny was I kept being the first person to field questions because the moderator kept passing them down to me. So someone asked about what kinks we like to read. And I said "strangulation" and everyone just sort of stared at me. Other people said nice, broad things like "BDSM" or "MPreg" but no, I said "strangulation" and seemed to appall everyone just slightly.

And not even breathplay - strangulation. That definitely needs the context of "immortal character, mmkay peeps?"

I think I meant to say breath play, but it was after midnight and I'd been awake for 40 hours at that point. Not my finest moment, although the panel overall went really well and was totally hilarious.

Although at one point someone in the audience rec'ed a story I _hate_ after I'd listed all my "oh god, what is wrong with Torchwood fandom" peeves and I had to smile politely.

Har. Dare I ask? (probably not, as this is a public post)

And now, people who haven't even read the story will be thinking "mauve panties" all through his panels in future.

Wow. I'm really perversely gratified by that. And I hadn't even thought of it before. Ha!

Dude, perverse gratification is my specialty. XD

And now I remember that mauve is the universally recognized color for danger!

I spent a lot of that panel wondering what the hotel worker who brought water must've been thinking when he heard what the panelists and audience were discussing!

The Who cosplay panel was good, mainly because there were some great costumes and they just had the costumers themselves come up and explain how they'd done it. I can't remember what that Jack said about her coat, but I was impressed at the trouble she took to cut and dye her wig, and that she made her earpiece out of dowels and an actual Bluetooth earpiece.

I'm thinking seriously about Gallifrey One. They certainly seem to have a lot of what was missing at the DragonCon BritTrack! (Interest in the new series, parties that might actually be fun...)

I have friends who are Gallifrey One vets and they says it's quite the party. And I can cosplay at it, as I've no pro connection to Who!

Ah, if it was girl!Jack I do know the source of her coat, so I don't need to ask that anymore.

(I think the solutions I saw at the con included an actual vintage coat (either RAF or American, can't remember), the replica from the Chinese cosplay company that is all sorts of wrong, but has good movement, something sewn from the totally wrong fabric that had the perfect drape and something that I suspect was the infamous vintage Luftwaft coat.)

Heavens, your hair looks awesome. What did you do? It is all curly!

It's rolled into lots of different pieces and pinned on top of my head. The bottom is curly thanks to Atlanta humidity.
