1. I am not doing so great. I am PMS'ing like mad, my period is late, I can't seem to cry, and I'm wound damn tight. Everyone is being great though, and basically I just need a day away from all of this to uncoil. THat will come Friday when we head up to CT for the weekend.

2. Sounds like Soren is making lots of progress. Now if only I could get to the damn hospital.

3. My dad is still in the ICU, but they think he will be moved to a regular room tomorrow or Thursday and probably be in the hospital through the weekend. I want them to keep him for a sleep study for sleep apnea, and it looks like he's going to have a lot more trouble walking than we originally thought. At his age and health, even if it's not the stroke, he's going to need hysical therapy to get out of bed after being in it for a week.

4. A friend was diagnosed with breast cancer. No question in my mind she'll beat the crap out of it with grace and calm. It's made me rather selfishly feel like a nutjob about my own health again though.

5. Cat puke.

6. We know the new series has a plotline involving kids. And we know we find out more secrets about Jack. And today there was news that 3 new TW books will be out in March, one about a house that Jack owned in 1907. Which got me wondering, are we going to find out that Jack has had children at some point in series 3?

If you want to cry, and also read about Jack and children, [livejournal.com profile] dsudis's latest is spot on for that.

So sorry things are shitty.

I just read that when I should have been working on a deadline. I cannot believe the buttons that fucking thing hit. So good.

I really need to read the novels. I have no spectulations about season three, but I feel like Jack's kids would be either a really cute topic or a really sad one (maybe both). I hope things get better later in the week.

Friday good. Friday near. You can do this.

Curiosity piqued re: Torchwood. There were insinuations in Hidden about that, though they turned out not to be the case. Hmm.

Is Hidden one of the audio-only books? (I've only listened to Everybody Says Hello which had me cracking up because Burn Gorman is so fucking funny.

Yep. Hidden is the other one. Rather nasty bastard of a story for our team, actually. Ianto in particular. If I remember right, Naoko Mori reads it.

Re: Burn Gorman, that man could read a telephone directory and make it worthwhile.

His imitation of Ianto had me snickering every single time.

Oh yeah, doesn't Ianto get into a car accident in that one? I seem to remember someone telling me that.

He gets run off a road by someone actively trying to kill him, actually. It's kind of ugly.

Is it bad that my reaction is "Oh rad!" and that I'll be so downloading that tonight.

Well, considering that I was already looking for my copy in the name of lobbing it at your inbox...no?

Would that I could overnight you a box of calm and patience.

Now that I have finally learned how to leak a few tears of sadness without having a full-blown crying fit/asthma attack/palpitations/crash, I keep a mental list of a few things which are all but guaranteed to make me bawl. That way, when I'm a stress case, I can fight for a few quiet minutes, play That Song or watch that clip or something, leak a few hormone-laden tears, and feel surprisingly better afterwards. I suppose one does leak stress hormones that way; it's just that crying was so often a source of stress for me that I didn't learn until fairly recently.

Strength until Friday.

Oh I certainly wouldn't be surprised on him having kids. You'd think there would be kids with his characteristics jumping all over the galaxy by now. But him actually raising kids... Now that would be another matter entirely. What I do know is that they are in the process of filming right now. My friend in Cardiff said she one of the sets a couple of days ago.

One thing I'd love to see them touch on is what happened to Torchwood 4, the branch that went missing.

(Trying to write this with my eyes closed to avoid the Torchwood speculation)

If you enjoyed hugs I would send you a virtual hug. Meanwhile, know you're in my thoughts, which you have been through this, while I've been really bad at commenting.

I'm wildly behind on TW although a few spoilers have gotten through; I think Jack's kids is a great topic though!

I'm new to Torchwood, just starting disc 3 of season one, when is a good time to go diving into books?

I think you have to love the characters to love the books and also know how the pieces fit together.

Another Life you can read at any time, because it takes place very early on after Gwen's arrival. And don't read Twilight Streets until after you finish Season 1 as there are things of critical relevance there. Otherwise, I can't think of any specific timing issues, but I would largely wait until you you were at least halfway through season 2, only because of the various relationship stuff.
