The window gate guy called and asked me if I'd moved all the furniture so they could install the gates. While this should have, probably, been obvious to me, it wasn't, and everything is still a mess from the robbery.

I panicked and told him I hadn't and couldn't by myself and did we need to reschedule and would it cost even more. I haven't been well, I said, since the robbery. Who the fuck says that? What sort of complete weakling am I?

So he said we'd work it out and now I'm cleaning the bedroom frantically so we can move furniture and they stole the diamond and ruby (cheap, shitty) earrings my racist, anti-semitic grandmother left me and did I think I was okay?

Hahahahaahah.

It has a waxy aftertaste. Have I mentioned that? Makes it funnier, right?

And yeah. I can't even. My abiding memory of the 2004 election was a woman on the train clutching a crumpled up NYT and crying silently, and I can promise you, she had not just been dumped.

I don't know what to do with that. Honestly, I do not.

I was playing bass guitar in a band during the 2000 election. I'd also volunteered and done some calling/canvassing, and was really excited because it was my first presidential election (I was 20). We spent every night before band practice in front of the TV watching the news to see if we had a new president yet. The night they announced Bush was...well...you can imagine. The only thing good about it was our sound.

I saw Ministry play the day after the 2004 election. Same effect, really.

I should see who's playing around here on 11/5...

I watched the crazy fucked up "why don't we have a president yet" thing of 2000 on a TV in an S&M club.

And lo, the personal is political.

Also, I'm having this awful vision of GWB as a bossy, unskilled top. It's not a bad analogy...
