My first thought was "Now that will always be part of this memory for him, along with the sleep deprivation and madness and frustration and blur of crowds and surges of adrenaline."

I haven't a single thought for her. Either her experience is done, or she can come have a look at how it came out if it still matters to her. He's the one I'm thinking about, and how this will get cooked into the stew of his current experience. (The day before your potentially landslide presidential election has to be like Bridezilla Syndrome to the nth power.)

I'm glad he took time out to say goodbye. I hopes he takes time out soon to let it sink in.
