This outccome? That speech? In front of a crowd of hundreds of thousands of people? echoing the speech that really started this off in a lot of ways? Dude, that was a fucking West Wing moment right there.
It was so weird to hear people repeating 'Yes, we can!' after him. I'm just not used to that. The crowd, the tears, the movie stars, the Oprah, the Fox News guy saying how awesome the kids up on the stage were... I so fear for Obama right now. He'll have a lot of expectations to fulfill. I don't think I've ever seen anything like that regarding politics, and I thought I'd never see it after Lula. It was... history being written through cable TV right in front of my eyes. I've seen historical facts happen many times, but very few actually gave me the feeling of being historical at the exact moment it was happening. This was definitely one of those.
It felt like watching Independence Day, only replacing the aliens by the Bushes.
