(ETA: well-intentioned as you surely are, please do not tell us to move when you are unaware of the financial and logistical obstacles to us doing so, including having no one who makes 70x the annual rent of an apartment to guarantee the place).

We have occasional leaks in our house because of some roof issues and eaves that need replacing. This stresses me out terribly for (I think) obvious reasons. One night, I think to get me to chill out and go to sleep, Joe looked at me and was like, "Hey, you like caves, right?"

Me: "Yeah."
Him: "And you know that caves with living rock have flowing water."
Me: "Yeah."
Him: "And you know how you're always talking about how houses are basically just cleaner, people-made caves..."

Oh yeah. It's terrible logic, but well-intentioned bad logic and it worked.

Now whenever I see dripping I make myself think "cave, cave, cave..." and dig out the bucket.
