Also be sure to enlarge the letters photographed with the story -- they aren't quoted in the piece and are amazing to read:
We are a family of five, just as poor as can be. We buried two babies in the last four years.

That's beautiful.

Now, that's what I call a Christmas story. Very very nice. Thank you!

That's a Christmas story for the ages.

What a great story. May we all learn from his great example!

Small fucking world. (Again, [livejournal.com profile] rm?)

Story?

You guys know each other? We worked on a show together, that drove me pretty insane, and I don't think was his idea of an awesome time either.

It was insanity, but I definitely had fun. Been itching to work with you again in any capacity.

[identity profile] rm.livejournal.com 2008-12-22 05:51 pm (UTC)(link)
You know, what's funny about that show is that while I have a lot of bad feelings about it for which I'm as culpable as any of the other parties, I was proud of the work.

I'm hoping to do more stuff again next year -- with Patty being home for a long stretch and some of the book craziness dying down, once I get my novel drafts done in the first quarter, it's time for me to do stage stuff again.

College.

He was in this show I directed. It (and he) was pretty damn good. Not that he needs his ego inflated, unless things have changed. ;)

Worked together on a show my first year in NYC. How do you guys know each other?

Oh wow, that's just grand...

I was functional reading the article until the coats. Then I was crying.

Ladies and/or gentlemen, could you please all rise for the singing of It's a Small World (After All).
Relative of mine met the owners of six of those coats, and the notes meant an order of magnitude more than the coats, which meant rather a lot. "The Yanks will come, you know, they always do."
I'm crying now, and I don't care who knows it. They're good tears.

*peers over shoulder*

I can understand. I got a bit teary right then, too.
