Patty: A tornado siren.
Me: It's not doing something we have to care about, is it?
Patty: Nope, every Wednesday at noon.
Me: It's so nice when they schedule the natural disasters.

Is the wind blowing a gale there? Here in central Maryland it's ferocious. I had to take the trash cans around to the leeward side of the house so they wouldn't get blown down the street.

I remember being surprised when I moved to NC that they did not have such a system for hurricanes. Tuesdays at 10:30 my whole childhood. Once a school drill was scheduled at 10:15 and a sub got panicked when the siren started and thought it was real. Ironically later that week they went off for real and we students didn't believe it wasn't a drill until twenty minutes in crash position.

They schedule the un-natural disasters here. We have an air raid every first Monday of the month, like clockwork.

That spy network is something else, I tell ya.
