Gallifrey One
Jan. 7th, 2009 08:31 amThere's going to be a dance. Thank _god_.
I may have to wear a dress; in part because it tends to startle people after I've been walking around in drag for a few days (and I have some great dresses -- remember the one from Terminus?) and because it occurs to me that (and this is funny considering th historic dance hobby) I have no idea how to dance to modern music when dressed like a guy. At all. So we just won't be having that. Also, true facr: I am incapable of turning down any excuse to wear an evening gown.
Now if only the full programming schedule would come out and someone would let me know if I'm doing anything for it.

Men don't dance to modern music, either, so that wouldn't be fun! We need to bring back structured social dancing - way more fun, way less stress of "wow, I look like a fool". Not sure why as you actually have to learn things, but having some sort of actual idea of what you should be doing is less stressful than the generic move! move!

Date: 2009-01-07 07:52 pm (UTC)No lie. Watching gay and bi men successfully dance to club music is much better. If you're looking for male club dancing role models, I'd go for that. Hey, it worked fine for me at D*C...

Painful to watch, numb to be.

Date: 2009-01-07 02:37 pm (UTC)The dance, last year, was waaaaay underattended, iirc. The karaoke, however, remains a popular spectator sport...

Date: 2009-01-07 03:15 pm (UTC)I know the karaoke is the big thing. I'm hoping the TW folks (i.e., a whole lot of pervy girls) can get the dance thing going.

Sure. I'll believe it when I see it.
Meantime, it seems like the masque director is taking their cues re: apt response time and such from Shaun as I've not heard a word about ANY prep they've done or help they're in need of and it's driving me up the bloody wall. Not so much that I'm willing to take over, mind you. I'm not that stupid!

Oh, indeed! I think the odds are on your side!

Date: 2009-01-08 02:54 am (UTC)All right, so I'm maybe making fun. And I'm pretty much incapable of turning down any excuse to wear an evening gown, too.
