Heard from Patty.

The videos I made for her from my phone didn't work, but I sent her pictures of me waving at her in my pajamas (that I am only wearing because it is so fuckign cold -- I am not a pajama person).

AND, the dig bought them all cell phones. We've never been phone folk and only talk on the phone when shit's been going on like the robbery or other house dramas, but I can now call her once a week and on Valentine's Day from Gallifrey, assuming I can figure out all the logistics of doing so. So that's pretty exciting.

It also feels good to know I can get in touch with her instantly should something serious arise in the world, although hopefully not.

She always uses the LJ pager to page to my phone when she logs on so that I can run to chat with her from wherever I am.

There's a whole system.

As much as I hate having her away, there are all these odd ways in which it's awesome. Certainly, it's given us a foundation of problem solving together. I thnk her beng an archaeologist is so good for the relationship it's ridiculous.
