This is why both LJ Idol drama _and_ fandom makes me so aggravated.

We're so invested in words, and yet feel perfectly free to act as if those words have no consequences. Well, they fucking do, people.

It doesn't. She Who Must Not Be Named from the community stormed off in a huff and formed her own (thebrenljidol) - net result being that the exact same thing happens, all players just share their entries with their friends and the behind-closed-doors secret alliances are made all the more vicious.

At least this is what I gather from third- or fourth-hand experience : )
