Fascinating stuff. The imagery does indeed set the tone as I'm sure Moore intended; the only disappointment is that the typography is very much "yippee, superheroes!".
OH see, I loved that. I thought the typography was the bug clue to the knowing deconstruction. But my father fucking joined the army so he could go to school to draw comic books. It really resonated with the place comic book heroes had for us mid-century.
