Starting to hit its stride. Still underwhlmed by the younger actors. When the script is language-focused it's amazing. Catching a few moments that are clearly in meter/verse; there should be more.

Oh, crap, I missed it AGAIN tonight. I guess I will torrent. But I think, upon reflection, I really liked the first two eps a lot. Like, a lot.

Except for evil!gay!Jackathan. Was the evil truly necessary? WHERE IS MY "PASSING THE LOVE OF WOMAN"? Where???? Has that improved at all?

No. But this episode made it clear, I think, that it's going to have to resolve. I mean, it got worse, but I think they have to come back from that, because they've taken the self-hate and evil as far as they can there.

Sigh. Well, I shall continue to hope. Also that it doesn't get cancelled.

Ian McShane ROCKS. And I love recognizing all the filming spots!

He's so good. He makes even the lame dialogue sound heightened. Since all of season 1 is in the can, even if it gets cancelled there will be a full DVD release I think.

Oh yes, the meter/verse is so much more evident from the mouth of Ian McShane (not much of a surprise there), and is so very lovely -- I agree that there should be more of it. I also love that there are those guards who are clearly the Shakespearean comic relief. I wonder how many "average" watchers are noticing these things? I wonder what ratings it's getting with "average" watchers, come to think of it. Any idea how it's doing?

I feel so very guilty that I am enjoying 'Kings' more than 'Dollhouse'.

Ugh, don't.

I watched one episode of Dollhouse and wanted to throw things at the TV the whole time. I was not impressed.

Yeah. The first five eps were both dull and squicky. But the last episode was, finally, Whedon-esque. I think it just might be pretty great from now on.

But neither show really thrills me. During this Hiatus of Doom, the only show that's keeping me sane is Supernatural.

I keep forgetting to watch. Though really, the only things that really catch my interest, having not yet watched an ep, are (1) Ian McShane, and (2) a bit of it was filmed a block from my apartment.

I missed the start of the series, and I think I'd rather enjoy the show if I had seen it. I really enjoy the rhythm of the script.
