suit!

- suit has been unpacked
- suit has the most gorgeous lining and interior construction EVER. I'll take photos. It's madness.
- actually, all the fiddly details are just amazing.
- suit cannot be tried on at work (despite my attempt with waistcoat and jacket because a) won't button when I'm not binding (good sign), b) I'm wearing the utterly wrong crap today to try it on and c) holy crap do I need a haircut.
- while all my clothing is costume to me, this is explicitly not costume to other people (although the splashes of red on the interior workmanship will provoke comments from certain members of a certain fandom) -- that, among other things, will be subject of serious brain engagement for you all later.

Right now, it's time to see Star Trek (which means suit has to stay at office tonight).

but suit? HOLY CRAP.

Lovely! I hope we see photos!

Did you find a shirt?

My husband has a suit with gold silk lining. It's awesome to have the contrast. :D

The only problem with boy hair--or most short hair--is that is has to be cut every couple of weeks.

Can't wait to see the suit.

The girls came through again, no doubt.

Bwee!

And LOL. If certain casting rumours about a certain special come true, it might be rather appropriate were you to have the costume in time for its viewing party...

Suit! It sounds sharp. I am very jealous and yes, pictures! but also, and I know it's personal, but do you bind/not bind just not at work or is it on a whim, depending on what you're wearing? I just wear relatively tight bras, because the guys where I work just need to know there's a bit of boob in there somewhere or they'd notice and definitely, definitely comment. Loudly. Just curious.

My non-image job(s) (acting is how you'd might imagine) seriously wouldn't care, but I tend to feel weird about it, because I don't want to have to explain or be put in a position to make other people feel comfortable, which, you know, I am, a lot of the time, even if it's just in my head.

For me it's usually:

- girl clothes, major push-up bra (my general state of being is always "if I'm going to do this thing, I'm going to do it _right_")
- neutral clothes, whatever's clean or sports bra
- proper men's clothes, sports bra or binder, but it depends on the clothes and sundry logistics.

Makes sense to me. :) I'm a little apprehensive about how I'll present in the fall but it's Portland, Oregon, and it's college, so really, I expect I'll be more reticent about mentioning my military experience than messing with people's chosen pronouns. Thanks.
