  • Patty is home. God, you have no idea how awesome that is. Her mom's in town, and apparently we're all going to see Phantom tonight. Absurdly, I've never seen it. And no cracks, I like musical theater.

  • Apparently, because it likes her better, the Internet mysteriously started working again this morning.

  • Logistical snafus seem to be taking care of themselves: I'll be paid Friday, yay.

  • Workity work work work.

  • I added a little bit of soil to the green zebra, noting some exposed roots today. Not sure what's up with that, but I think it was either another animal incident, or some soil got knocked out in the storm last night. Two more buds are starting to open, so we may be upping the tomato count soon! I'm glad it's doing well, as this variety is notoriously not disease resistant.

The other tomatoes are experiencing some yellow leaves, as I've noted before. So I'm trying to water less. Of course, it keeps raining.

There are ten buds on the pepper, and it's super cool and amazing looking. None have opened yet, but any day, then soon, baby peppers!

    Herbs are doing well.

    Theo the other tomatoes

Please, please don't fix this typo. I will now call all tomatoes "Theo."

    Sniff.

Farewell, Theo. We hardly knew ye.

ETA: Arrgh. It's a habit I developed to combat double chins in photos. So noted.

Tomatoes also grow roots up their stems (if you see little bumps near the base of the plant, that's potential roots), so you may not be losing soil but rather gaining more roots. You don't neccesarily want to encorage that when it's fruiting but it's also not a big deal.

Good to know, and explains some stuff I didn't understand on the younger plants. But this was definitely not that, this was "clump of soil, where did you go?"

Great photos. Too sharp to be vintage. More timey-wimey.

Of course the Internet likes Patty better. Science!

    Glad things are going better!

It's probably a good thing Duchess aren't in San Francisco. But I may try them anyway when I get the budget back in shape. I will certainly trust them to make the boy a suit if he likes them. (I worry about Internet measurements with the wheelchair business, so I'd rather see someone I can see in person.)

This isn't completely related, and I hope it isn't too personal a question, but I'm really curious about something.

Having read a bit about how you use clothing as costume on a daily basis, I wondered what part scent plays in creating the illusion.

Do you wear different perfumes and colognes depending on the style of your dress and the persona you're creating, or do you stick to the same scent all the time?
