I need a cheap, reliable, no drama hosting service that will makes things as uncomplex as possible for me in terms of registering a domain name and allowing me to update my site via FTP whenever, and in terms of not dinging me on transfer fees. I Google, and 8-billion things come up, and it's too much for my poor little brain.

I like drak.net for my lower traffic domains, but they're a bit chintzy on the bandwidth - maybe their more expensive plans are more generous, but I went the cheap-cheap-cheap route with 'em.

I hear good things from my friends about lunarpages.com although I've not used them myself.

By all that is holy, stay away from lowestcosthost.com - I host two domains with them and would have quit a month ago, but I've paid through 7/31/04 in advance and I'm stubborn as well as cheap...
