Date: 2009-07-28 03:59 am (UTC)I have seen a few fics that have Jack very, very purposefully remembering Ianto on July 9th, 3009. One of them used the stopwatch as a mental reminder, the other used Cardiff - or an area of another planet reminiscent of the topology and weather that South Wales had in 2009.

Date: 2009-07-28 04:51 am (UTC)Ahaha kitties and ice! I put ice cubes in the bowl for Pumpkin and Jasmine and they jump straight up in the air when the ice crackles.
Time capsules - brilliant. And wow, I've never heard of rent going down.

Date: 2009-07-28 06:04 am (UTC)OMG, after the way RTD sneered and laughed at the fen this weekend at ComicCon, I sooooooooooooo needed this.
Anyone else who had the misfortune to see the TW panel should be able to back me up -- RTD is as heartless to fen as he is to characters. Not only does he not care that he wantonly murdered a character you cared about (many characters, actually), but he seems to take a perverse glee in insisting that not only do your tears not move him, but he actually murdered the character you loved JUST to have the joy of watching you cry while insisting "it had to happen" and "we're never bringing him back".
I thank the man for bringing back Who. I thank the man for giving us TW. But for the way he acted at Con...?
*cold shoulder*
I'm going to go back to writing cathartic-and-yet-humorous fic.

Date: 2009-07-28 08:40 am (UTC)I reposted it after COE. Let me know if you're not too swamped to read. It's about 10,000 words and really quite romantic. Also quite imperfect but it was my first Janto plotty thing.
"There was other stuff, but lord knows what it was!"
- I want that on my headstone.
1,000 years hence fics
Date: 2009-07-28 09:19 am (UTC)I saw a wonderful drabble a couple of weeks ago - and I'm damned if I can find it, but I'll try - with Jack in a 1,000 years waking up with a new lover, and a strange lingering sense of regret as he struggles to remember something, or someone......very realistic and ever so slightly heart-breaking.
I'll post it here if I ever stumble across it again.

The first thing that sprang to my mind was giving his name to a star. Not sure if they will still call this star by the name given in the modern certificate, but it's at least romantic :)
