we make stuff
Aug. 10th, 2009 10:09 amTranformative work.
Interstitial work.
Collaborative work.
This is the stuff I live for, kids. And I love so much that I got to be a part of this one... Once upon a time, someone made a TV show. And then someone wrote some fanfiction. And then someone else made some art for that fanfiction. And then I sang.
Stuff! (with links and downloads. Sane people with download the mp3; crazy people who understand how much is lost in a conversion to .mp3 from .wav will go for the .wav).

Date: 2009-08-10 03:11 pm (UTC)At a certain point, when my life is less insane and I have more time to read what I want and not what I must (Is a lowly poor student alas!) I want to start writing fic again... reading what I wrote for Star Trek ten/seven/five years ago is just painful.
Still awesome though :)

Date: 2009-08-10 06:08 pm (UTC)I just finished watching--all three seasons, this weekend (thank God for DVDs) and read Sandy "In Perpetuity" last night. Now you have taken the phrase, the touchstone and made it into something more tangible, something audible that pulls at the heartstrings and yanks at the gut and...OH.
Then I went and joined Torchwood comms, so I could read more fic. Why didn't anyone ever tell me? If I would have known about Torchwood, my username might have been jackslittleteaboy, you know?
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. For the song, for the fandom rec, for all of it. You helped my inner scifi geek find something that was missing for far too long.
*hums*

Date: 2009-08-10 07:54 pm (UTC)I will return to this moment in space-time whenever Fandom seems to be made of suck, to remind me of why I think it's awesome.
I hadn't realised how many bytes were lost in conversion, until I saw the numbers. Add me to crazy list.
Thank you yet again for reminding me who Jack is. It matters.

Date: 2009-08-10 10:18 pm (UTC)The Dr.Temering seems like the sort of tall tale that Jack might indulge in, if only for recreational purposes, out of nostalgia for the days of the Long and Short Cons. Something the face the Face might do one day out of nostalgia or the nostalgia for the nostalgia...just to see if he could still spin a yarn.(Much as, just a few minutes ago, groping for an analogy, I found myself wondering, for the first time in maybe forty-five years, if I still knew how to play jacks-no pun intended.)
My guess would be, because Jack cannot die, that biological evolution starts to take place within his own body, and that over millions of years he evolves into what post Cro Magnon humanity(Earthlings!) might have evolved into, had they not cross bred with other species.
But the physical transformation as a cure for immortality idea is just awesome, and sad, and brilliant.
