  • Were you a Firefly fan when the show actually aired? Were you still in the fandom when Serenity came out? If so, I need to pick your brain, fairly briefly, about fan reactions to Wash's death, because I need to know sorta what went on in the fandom as support or a counterpoint to an abstract I'm working up. Comment below if I can bug you on this. Thanks. Okay, I think I'm covered, but if you volunteered I may be PM'ing you at a later date.

  • Are you going to be at Dragon*Con? Do you still need to get a copy of The Book of Harry Potter Trifles, Trivias and Particularities? If so, let me know. $12 each, payable there or via Paypal before the con. I will inscribe it awesomely, of course. I will not have extra copies with me, so if you want one, you need to let me know. YAY.

  • These photos are perhaps more of my ordinary life than I typically let people see, in that I am not at my best, even remotely. However:

  • I feel pretty awful today in terms of period/headache/cramps/pain.

  • Work.

    That's one fine suit.

The gown isn't half bad either ;-)

If you end up needing more feedback on the Wash death, let me know. I have a different opinion on it than most people I know/read... and was really fascinated by the fan backlash at the time.

I envy the way you can shift from beautiful girl to handsome boy with such ease. Both pictures are awesome.

You! YOU! Rocking the gender ambiguous look in that suit; I think the wry, slightly frazzled, slightly tussled hint to the whole thing makes it that much more real and, thereby, more convincing. I love the pinstripes, and the pattern of the tie, and the watch chain (!!!)

I only wish I could look this convincing, in a dress or a suit.

I think you look wonderful, in both.

The gown is lovely, and the suit is marvelous.

You've struck through it now, but I was a fan of Firefly from the first commercial I saw, and took the day off to see Serenity at the first showing the day it came out.

Wash's death was a shock in the moment, and very sad, but in the context of the Whedon-verse, not at all unusual.

You may not have felt fab, but you look great in both photos! Beautiful dress and awesome suit.

I am late to the party I know, but... "The Book of Harry Potter Trifles, Trivias and Particularities" ooh shiny! I will, sadly not be at DragonCon, but now that I know of this tasty book, I will have to get my hands on a copy.

Approximately Work Related: Have not seen the show since it was broadcast; have not as yet seen movie; would describe myself as fan; perfectly fine with story teller taking us to the point in the narrative where one of the hero's dies, because that's what always happens for everyone but Arthur and Enoch. OK, and Elijah. And Arthur might die when he gets back to the fight, yes?

Decidedly Not Work Related.: I'm so glad that you aren't identical twins with contrasting styles, and that never would I ever have to try and choose which of you to go and talk to at a party. You win!

    Good health!

    OOOP!

I wasn't actually thinking identical twins. I meant different sexed fraternal twins who look identical. Except they don't. But they really do. Only different. See.

I absolutely love the suit (and, ya know, I should have asked you to be on my Gents Fashion panel. That was an oversight. Next year, mayhaps?)

Oh, next year (I should be back) would be wonderful! I would love to do that _so_ much.

Meanwhile, good news, I'm back as part of the Rapid Fire Reading on your track, since the day got moved. At least, so I think -- I keep feeling like nothing is set in stone until the pocket program comes out.

It's great how versatile you are in terms of what you can wear well...Me, I could wear the suit, but the dress would look ridiculous on me. Although personally, I like you better in the suit. You make it look very suave. And it has dark red, always a plus.

These days I feel _much_ more comfortable in the suit, but in the summer, dresses are more friendly.

I'll need to post pics of the other shirts I got too -- I've a pale green one, and a fabulous, very stripey 40s one.

You look great in both outfits--that dress is to die for and the suit is fantastic--but I think I like the suit look just a smidge better. Tough call, though. :)

You look gorgeous in both and the color of the shirt! Wow! I know you mentioned it a day or three back and I tried to picture it but failed...but that looks gorgeous all put together. Is a picture of it with the greatcoat forthcoming? Inquiring minds and all that :D

As for Firefly/Serenity, I watched the show avidly while it was being aired, and saw Serenity (I might have even watched it in the theaters.) But I was never involved in online fandom -- and now I'm kinda curious if there's a diff between those of us (who were current with the show) who were and were not involved in the fandom aspect. I was shocked by Wash but as a veteran of Buffy & Angel shows...not too surprised. So was fandom's online reaction fairly virulent?
