My temper? LOST.

ETA: I missed, until just now, the part where good ol' Ogi says it's okay for him to use the word "tranny" because that's what people who love trans individuals call said individuals in the adult entertainment industry.

So I just had to write a rant about sex work.

You've been referenced without name a few times in the thread. At least, I assume it's you. I appreciate very much the respect you're giving the marginalized folks here in knowing that we can take care of ourselves. However, sometimes men like these men can only understand what we are trying to tell them if it is told to them by people they consider people -- i.e., other straight men. For that reason alone, I'd urge your addressing them.

Well, that's kind of what worries me -- if he has no Straight White Male to speak to, he either has to speak to the marginalised people on the thread or GTFO. Plus I don't want to turn it into two straight men battling each other over marginalisation. Oh the irony.

On the other hand, I see your point, and I do want to help however I can. Believe me, I've been torn about what to do and how to do it, not to mention where, since yesterday afternoon.

I think, if I am going to talk to them, the wisest place would be in Ogias' journal, on that Survey Down post, yes? I'll keep working on how to do this, but I sure could use some advice if you've got it.

I think that's probably the right place.

The power of your friendslist is good for letting people know this shit it happening, but you don't necessarily need that audience platform to tell these guys to shut up and sit down especially as it would -- as your concerns state -- upstage the marginalized folks telling these people to knock it off.

This is bizarre. I went, I posted, I saw the comment go up; I can even see the comment if I open the "recently closed tab" in which it posted.

But it's not visible if I go back to the post in another tab. WTF. If they were screening, I'd see it; if they were deleting, it wouldn't come up in the closed tab. Can one moderate comments on a journal?

Can you see my comment here?

Anyway, they must have got it, which is what's important. If they put up a new survey I'll definitely make a post warning people.
