Oh, I don't believe him at all. But I do believe its indicative of fandom-induced pressure from his agent, publisher or BU.

See, I'm thinking he sold the publisher on the deal as being all edumacated because BU was backing him.

Until, of course, it came out that BU took three giant steps back.
