Nah, they didn't want the bike. Wild turkeys are just aggressive, territorial little bastards. I used to hate having to go in their enclosure when I was a zookeeper.

So did the guy with the videocamera not think the turkeys posed a serious threat to the kid other than being a little scary, or is he just a complete dick?

You go person in the car who, if ineffectually, at least tried to help scare off the turkeys.

Good lord. What's next? Communities being terrorized by packs of marauding cheeseburgers?

I was once part of a group of people on the wrong end of a marauding turkey. As someone put it later, "10 people running in terror from dinner."

The farmer, who was not impressed by it or us, had to come out and swat it with a broom.

I was having quite a bad day until I saw that.

Now I just want to get into a fight with a turkey.

AHA! YES! Finally, my upbringing is useful.

If that happened to me, I'd take a heavy object, knock one of them over the head, take it home, and then cook it for dinner.

Wild turkeys are nothing to mess with. They can be pretty vicious and they're damned territorial.

We see packs of 'em sometimes during hunting season, hanging out near the (oh, the irony) taxidermy shop at the little traffic circle by the lake, because they know it's an area where they can't be shot. Smart buggers, they are. There's a reason Franklin wanted them to be the national bird.

Never confuse a wild turkey with a domestic one. Not at all the same species, I swear.
