One of the neighborhood garden cats died; it was hit by a car. We are all sad.
Hip-hop about Alexander Hamilton in the voice of Aaron Burr. Um, it's actually more awesome than bizarre, which is saying something, because it's pretty bizarre. Found through kalichan who grew up with the guy (the dude performing, not Alexander Hamilton or Aaron Burr, because that would be weird).
She also sent me a link to the New York Times explaning current unemployment rates. If people need an illustration to understand the idea of 1 in 10, our problems are more epic than I can possibly imagine. After that, the charts actually attempt to tell us something we don't know.
Seriously, I have a deep and everlasting love for him, because of my mother, who quite literally owns every single Falco song and remix and re-release there ever was. I grew up on him, and always get nine kinds of happy when people have actually heard his stuff. (Or watched his music videos! He had trippy music videos, and I'm pretty sure there are still ones I haven't seen because I was too young for them at the time ("Naked", especially))
I remember making my own video for Rock Me Amadeus as a humanities project. It was made using a videodisc of an art museum, and frame by frame scanning, and people walking backwards. It was also one of the few songs my father and I could agree on.
