Date: 2009-11-24 04:03 pm (UTC)Oh 'eck. As though we needed the field to swing more to the far right. I expect his chances will be on a par with Fred Thompson's in '08 but it's still not encouraging.
I thought everyone in New York City had known that for years?
I'd had my suspicions, particularly since they've been v. cagey about their charitable paperwork in a way that other nonprofits haven't. Sad to know they've been confirmed, anyway.

Date: 2009-11-25 06:59 am (UTC)MY favorite rant from them was the one about how the Disney version of Hercules was completely false. They yelled " he was no blond haired white boy faggot! he was a PROUD BLACK MAN!! "
( their words, not mine )

Date: 2009-11-24 04:49 pm (UTC)Balloons....le sigh...this is something I REALLY miss about living in New York. Brendan thought it was ridiculous last year...until we went and he saw how awesome it really is. I was so tempted to brave the traffic and drive down late tomorrow night just to try to see them. But that would be insanity.

Date: 2009-11-24 05:06 pm (UTC)Okay, I'm utterly intrigued. I've often been told that I look somewhat Indian. What's it called and where could I rent it?

It's the younger sister. two long braids, big round glasses and your officious Percy/Ianto cosplay body-language. It's BIZARRE.

Sure, let's free two border guards who shot an unarmed man in the back. Yes, said man turned out to be a criminal, but they didnt know that when they attempted to murder him.
Sure, let's stop those bad companies who are using damn foreigners to take our jobs away, when of course to bring someone here on a visa (such as an H1-B) you have to demonstrate that you are paying them the going rate in your community. And of course, I would much rather hire a foreigner and pay him exactly what I pay a citizen and incur the extra legal costs and hassles because, why???
As for the birthers - Jesus H. fucking Christ, get a life already. You've seen the birth certificate, and you're not entitled to ask for anything else. Can't find it in the constitution, nope looked, and it doesn't say what kind of birth certificate you have to submit.
CNN really damaged their credibility by keeping him on as long as they did. I might even start watching them again. I'm almost over them shafting Aaron Brown (yep, I've got a long, long memory).
Sorry to use your blog as a rant, but its been one of those days!

Date: 2009-11-24 09:49 pm (UTC)Oh my god, Miss Hollywood is such a terrible song! TERRIBLE! That said, Carbon Leaf is one of my favorite bands ever, so if you haven't yet heard any of their GOOD songs, let me know and I will totally fix that. :)

Date: 2009-11-25 01:12 pm (UTC)When I have my occasional shoulder/neck issue, it seems to be aggravated by stress - so likely muscle tension that built up to an intolerable level.
I have a homeopathic leg cramp ointment (made by Hyland's, orange label, it IS called "leg cramp" something or other - findable on Amazon at the very least) that works like a charm to get the muscles to calm down.
Then, for an exercise, I grab onto a convenient non-moving object (stair railing, shelf support, etc - seems to work better when my hand is around shoulder level), hold on tight, and lean away from the object (while still holding on) and this provides tension without using muscle power.
Then, I twist that arm back and forth a few times, GENTLY, stop leaning, and let go. One or two times in a day, and some sleep, seems to take care of it for the most part.
I do recommend a chiropractor - mine is wonderful - but I know it's a pain in the arse finding one who's any GOOD. A good chiropractor should be willing to sit down and explain why you have pain in x-spot, in a way that actually makes sense to you, and anatomically. Mine has posters of skeletal and muscular structures, so I can point to it and go 'I hurt here when I do x' and he tells me what's connected. It's very cool. :)
Hope that helps. You're welcome to email me if you want more details, or reply here and I'll expand. :)
