Little bears a remarkable resemblance to hypono-toad, ne? Photo by | Cat update Little is really sick. The good news is that they believe it's all entirely reversable and curable. But she needs to stay in the hospital tonight and tomorrow. They are running another test to see if she has diabetes. They are adding another antibiotic and changing one of her other medications. Once they know if she is diabetic there is another treatment they can add or not (and also address the diabetes). She has to stay in the hospital tonight and tomorrow. On the 26th the other test will be back and we'll know more. And right now they have to hand-feed her too because she's not volunteering to eat. Good news: no ultrasound. Bad news: cat is in the hospital on fucking Christmas. |

Date: 2009-12-24 03:57 pm (UTC)Richmond witness... doesn't say that his testimony is vital, but the absence of it can't hurt. Hope the guy's just decided to go walkabout for a bit, that he's alright and he'll come back when he's needed. It would upset me if his disappearance allowed some subhuman scum to walk instead of doing the quarter-century sentences they deserve.

Date: 2009-12-24 05:11 pm (UTC)I would be freaked out by the smoky ham miasma. I remember you calling that night. Was it Little who hid under the stairs and scared everyone half to death?
I'm working today, so I'll be on the computer all afternoon if you need someone to talk to.

Date: 2009-12-24 09:32 pm (UTC)That makes a perfect kind of sense!
I fetishise noses, and I've yet yo get into whether it's some kind of phallic fixation or not, but it so totally explains my dislike of anime/manga (I'm much more of a Western comic books person; give me Batman and Superman and Wonder Woman any day of the week!).

Date: 2009-12-24 11:29 pm (UTC)Here's hoping Little is well.
I don't do RPS/fic. They make me feel dirty, and not in a good way. ;-)
Smoke alarms....I should say they are necessary, but most times, I find them annoying. I have a wood burning furnace, and the damn thing is ALWAYS going off. Most people don't have the right kind, anyway. I have to upgrade mine.
That's all. From B*F* Ohio, myself, I say try to have a good night, and merry whatever. Having Patty in this godforsaken state has to help somewhat.

Date: 2009-12-25 05:15 am (UTC)And oy, that fire. I remember talking with the utterly lovely guys who lived upstairs for a while about how they lent them some cookware which was never returned, and how the firemen who were there 6 months later to get someone from the roof asking after the cats. Oh, that apartment. If those walls could talk (and they probably could, that place had strange mojo).

Date: 2009-12-25 10:02 am (UTC)Fielder had diabetes that needed insulin injections twice daily for most of his life, and he lived a long and happy (I hope!) life with us (until the cancer).
If she does end up needing insulin injections, please, for her own sake and yours, learn about testing her using standard prick-test kits using the edge of her ears. Sounds icky, but it's the best (and really only) place to do home-testing. Some vets haven't even heard of this and get all weird if you talk to them about it, but testing saved Fielder's life again and again, as of course there was no way to know what his blood sugar was otherwise, and giving an insulin injection without that knowledge is terrifying.
Google has some excellent resources you can find about this testing method, and I found that Fielder not only got used to the testing quickly and easily, but actually relaxed into it (and the shots, which don't hurt at all) and sought us out to get tested at the designated time if we were late or forgot.
Sorry for the scree ... I'm a big advocate of it, as you can probably figure out. :)
