In Ft. Lauderdale airport. More later/tonight/soon.

We had a great time.

Link me to LJ stuff I should read? including a brief summary of whatever the latest fuckery that seems to have happened in TW fandom is, please?).

Merci.

At the moment, the latest stupid on the internet involves Pat Robertson's and Rush Limbaugh's idiotic comments about the earthquake in Haiti.

Though in less-stupid news, [livejournal.com profile] help_haiti is raising funds via fannish creation to help those in need as a result of said quake. Quite a few of my flisties are already offering fan (and other) works.

[livejournal.com profile] metafandom has been running a lot of posts on women (particularly straight women) writing m/m slash addressing issues of objectification and colonisation, etc -- I think this was prompted by a straight woman who claimed that women had invented the m/m romance genre. Of course this is resonating quite a bit with TW fandom at the moment, due to certain sections of fandom that seem to be conflating shipping J/I and the save Ianto campaign with LGBTQI activism. I think that others have already provided you with the relevant links to meta from various people in tha fandom.

As has also been mentioned, a lot of people are signing up for the [livejournal.com profile] help_haiti auction. I have a summary here of all the people on my flist who are offering stuff.

Yeah, it's not TW spesific, exactly, but the whole 'what is slash, who's it for, what does it mean' has more impact in a fandom with canon homosexuality, the backlash against RTD (he killed my ship, he must be homophobic!11!) and etc.

On a lighter note

I saw "Dogboy and Justine"! It was both funny and sad at the same time. I voted for it, so I hope it goes to the finals! A friend is in "Tommy Reilly" so I'll be seeing that on Friday!

Cool! I'm glad it worked for you. It's a strange piece, I keep meaning to expand, and it's suppose to be a weird mix of emotions.

Thank you!
