HOW DID YOU KNOW I WAS HUMMING!? Get out of my brain. Unless you don't mind the sexy boys doing whatever it is they do in there.

Nice new avatar photo. That's you, I assume?

You going to be at LunaCon again, btw?

It'd be nice to (knowingly) meet you in person. I'll be the blond preppy-type (US term whose meaning I'm not wholly familiar with myself, but I'm told it applies to me) with the weird Anglo-Australian accent.

After reading the article: That was truly amazing. I don't honestly know what I'd do in that situation, but I tend to drop into comedy, so I'd probably had told him to stop a while ago. But, the degree to which we're interconnected digitally serves as both a form of disconnection from ourselves and humanity, and sometimes it ends up bringing us closer.

When I moved to the SF Bay Area three years ago, I left behind many friends. Including people I had just met at Gallifrey and San Diego Comic Con. Through Facebook, Twitter, IM and e-mail, I managed to built relationships with these people beyond those few hours in a cosplay costume at those conventions. I'm happy that technology is here, otherwise, I'd have fewer friends and progressive onset of self-destructive spiraling depression.

I'm seeing a slightly different lesson here (than previous commenters). Don't put things off. Don't let relationships drift - you may not get another chance to say what needs to be said.

I have an Internet friend who is dying, and I feel so much that way sometimes.

That made me cry. I can't imagine what it must be like to look into the face of someone you barely know, know that they are dying and then figure out what to do. Hopefully it won't traumatize her, but she will go on to be able to cross that hurdle in the future. Great link.
