  • It has stopped raining. My plan is to go to Costco, bring the stuff back here. Then go to Macy's, then pop into work for a few hours, where I will work, so I can come home at a reasonable hour. I've been distractable and inefficient these last few days.

  • I have two docuseries ideas, for which I need to get in touch with the people involved. One involves friends, one involves someone I barely know. Both feel like low-stress contacts, however, and one of them is so not negative a situation, I think it could go to yes pretty easily.

  • I've been doing a lot of research on London for Patty and I's trip, eventhough it is very much a working trip for us both.

I've researched lesbiand bars (why, I'm not sure, it's not like we go to lesbian bars here) and have been unsurprised to discover this sense of "lesbian scene, what lesbian scene?" but also heartened to discover a lot of places that are mixed queer environments, which is something I prefer, but I don't feel like there's a lot of in NYC these days; London definitely seems to have more queer (wherein I mean that specific word, as opposed to that word as a catchall for lesbian and gay) nightlife than NYC.

I have researched Brick Lane. It seems very Brooklyn hipster? Which isn't particularly my speed, but can be totally fun, and things that are my speed seem rather out of our budget in London. Also, I do like how many events and things to encourage the wearing of three-piece suits even in the little descriptions in Time Out London. I think I may like this city. A lot.

I've found a burlesque club I really want us to go to (and yes, really burlesque, not "burlesque" meaning "strippers" as hilariously happened in Minneapolis). Very retro, and they also do shows at tea time!

I've put together a list of gluten-free bakeries.

And, I've discovered the animatronic dinosaur exhibit, which, when I emailed the link to Patty, she replied to by saying, "I think I have to take you to this." So now I'm all giddy, because my awesome girlfriend is taking me on a DinoDate in London.

Okay, I just reread this chunk of the post. I am clearly twelve, since this all boils down to: boobies, sweets and dinos.

  • Here at the Torchwood Virtual Season we love you very much. I think I just broke something from laughing so hard.

  • [livejournal.com profile] copperbadge metas about the portrayal or lack there of, of immediate grief on TV. Spoilers for White Collar, Torchwood and Harry Potter.

  • Yesterday, because I wanted some more Jack, I ordered the three 9th Doctor novelizations he's in. The premise of one of the books looks EXTREMELY interesting to me, so I have high hopes for it, quite aside from my little obsession.

  • So today is, apparently, "steak and a blowjob day." This year, I've decided that's annoying (even as I rationally get how it's cool or amusing to random individuals), not because I object to either steak or blowjobs, but because it's like "here, this is masculinity! prove you're a man. rawr!" Blech.

  • Okay, my Internet connection is being way, way too slow for me to give you some links, so I'll add stuff later perhaps. Besides, it's Sunday, no one reads the Internet on Sunday anyway.
