The next SyFy movie you want to watch out for

I have just received a casting notice for:
MEGA PYTHON VS GATOR-ROID
Set in Florida in present day. When a genetic experiment goes wrong, all hell breaks loose...

Man, this is the sort of thing that makes me think it's TRAGIC I don't live in LA.

FYI, I don't actually know if it's for SyFy, that's just my guess.

When the revolution comes, I get to take the execs who think this was a super idea out back and make them chop down the Empire State Building with a herring.

Extra Large Does Not Equal Science Fiction.

[identity profile] bugeyedmonster.livejournal.com 2010-06-16 07:11 am (UTC)(link)
No, but it equals Really Fun Bad B-movie That Fans Dress Up To And/Or Sing Along With.

[identity profile] dr-is-in.livejournal.com 2010-06-16 02:47 am (UTC)(link)
And this is why I am glad SyFy wasn't in the running to get their mitts on Torchwood.

Yeah, its most likely for SyFy (or direct to DVD obscurity). This is the same channel that has brought us gems like Dinocroc....which is on in 4 minutes (I only know this because I am watching tv with Bill and he's watching wrestling on the channel).

:D Yes! More gloriously silly Saturday night movies!

GATORS!!! GATORS ON STEROIDS! how could this be bad?

[identity profile] moizissimo.livejournal.com 2010-06-16 07:18 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, that's a better idea. My first thought was gators with hemorrhoids.

[identity profile] kel-reiley.livejournal.com 2010-06-16 07:58 am (UTC)(link)
either way, we'd have some really pissed-off gators

[identity profile] smirnoffmule.livejournal.com 2010-06-16 04:03 pm (UTC)(link)
ROID RAGE GATORS. Nothing can go wrong here. Nothing.

This is my 5th movie, Kel, all picked out! TO THE BLANKET FORT.

[identity profile] kel-reiley.livejournal.com 2010-06-17 12:01 am (UTC)(link)
someone has to watch that gdl sherlock movie with me b/c i still have not seen it and everyone already watched it without me!
it's got dinosaurs in it

[identity profile] smirnoffmule.livejournal.com 2010-06-17 12:03 am (UTC)(link)
I'm a bad Torchwood fan because I only want to watch that film for Dominic Keating (iiiicon). And the dinosaurs. That can be number 6.

[identity profile] kel-reiley.livejournal.com 2010-06-17 12:14 am (UTC)(link)
that's perfectly alright - i only want to watch it so i can finish my super-sekrit vid for someone :)

[identity profile] lefaym.livejournal.com 2010-06-16 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
Could it be for Asylum? :)

[identity profile] darthhellokitty.livejournal.com 2010-06-16 06:23 am (UTC)(link)
We can only hope! More work for GDL!!!

[identity profile] sevendayloan.livejournal.com 2010-06-16 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
Oh my god. Oh my god This is amazingly brilliant. I would pay serious money to be a part of that show.

[identity profile] laughingacademy.livejournal.com 2010-06-16 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
"GATOR-ROID"? Would that be an alligator that's been dosed with steroids, or one that's part robot?*

* I know the term "android" applies only to robots which mimic the human form, but I'm not sure the people running SyFy are aware of that.

[identity profile] dm811.livejournal.com 2010-06-16 03:11 am (UTC)(link)
possibly a football player with a medical problem??

[identity profile] laughingacademy.livejournal.com 2010-06-16 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
What hath University of Florida Athletics wrought?

[identity profile] ladyofthelog.livejournal.com 2010-06-16 05:09 am (UTC)(link)
GATER-ROID 2: THE WRATH OF TEBOW

[identity profile] citrinesunset.livejournal.com 2010-06-16 04:20 am (UTC)(link)
All I can think of is gatorade. Only with steroids or something.

[identity profile] stardragonca.livejournal.com 2010-06-16 05:02 am (UTC)(link)
I'm certain they aren't.

[identity profile] dm811.livejournal.com 2010-06-16 03:10 am (UTC)(link)
Oh no no, you misunderstand. As a native Floridian, I an assure you that this happens all the time. Gator-riods a a major problem here, constantly causing wreaks on the highways. And we're working on a plan to use Mega Pythons to corral the BP oil in the Gulf.
Oh wait. I think I just wrote the sequel XP

[identity profile] bugeyedmonster.livejournal.com 2010-06-16 07:08 am (UTC)(link)
And would the tri-quel be Mega Pythons trained to attack enemy subs in WWIII?

[identity profile] bugeyedmonster.livejournal.com 2010-06-16 07:09 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, no, wait... the Mega Pythons would be used to attack alien invaders in the tri-quel. That's it!

[identity profile] reannon.livejournal.com 2010-06-16 03:16 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, the SyFyLys Channel. What shall we do without you?

[identity profile] therealycats.livejournal.com 2010-06-16 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
I call it that too!

[identity profile] therealycats.livejournal.com 2010-06-16 03:16 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, you KNOW that's a SciFi movie. It would have to be. What if the Barrowman were to be cast in it? I saw him on some...shark movie sequel of theirs once. You know you want to go for it!

[identity profile] laufeyette.livejournal.com 2010-06-16 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
I saw him on some...shark movie sequel of theirs once.

That movie is so awesome! I'm still trying to decide if STONEHENGE APOCALYPSE was quite as good.

(SyFy movie titles must always be in caps. I don't know why.)

[identity profile] laughingacademy.livejournal.com 2010-06-16 04:42 am (UTC)(link)
I think Shark Attack 3: Megalodon wins on the basis of The Line.
Edited 2010-06-16 04:42 (UTC)

[identity profile] laufeyette.livejournal.com 2010-06-16 04:53 am (UTC)(link)
The Line is pretty amazing, but "It was a robot head!" is already a meme, lol. That has to count for something. XD

[identity profile] tsarina.livejournal.com 2010-06-16 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
MEGA piranha was Oscar worthy! Hahah.
annathepiper: (Alan LOL)

[personal profile] annathepiper 2010-06-16 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
With a title like that, who else COULD it be for? :D

"Gator-Roid". WOW.

[identity profile] citrinesunset.livejournal.com 2010-06-16 04:22 am (UTC)(link)
Hahahaha. That's got to be a SyFy movies.

[identity profile] thatwordgrrl.livejournal.com 2010-06-16 04:30 am (UTC)(link)
Hah! Himself just submitted for that one...

[identity profile] bugeyedmonster.livejournal.com 2010-06-16 07:06 am (UTC)(link)
OOOOOOO!

I love totally bad silly B movies! One star theater! Yeah! Plus I do my best painting when there's one playing in the background. (Don't know why.)

That title sounds like someone watched way too many Japanese monster movies, and said, "hey! We could do something like this and set it off the Florida coast!"

[identity profile] abnormal-apathy.livejournal.com 2010-06-16 10:52 am (UTC)(link)
I hope that whatever happens, that gator swallows Miami whole. During WMC. Shot at the Delano pool party, of course. Oh yes, and Dan Marino has to be in the scene...with David Hasselhoff...singing a duet...just because.

[identity profile] hughcasey.livejournal.com 2010-06-16 11:17 am (UTC)(link)
I read that as "Gator-AID" at first.

I can see the ad now...

Gator-Aid: "Is it in you?"

Mega-Python: *Nom-nom-nom* "Yep."

[identity profile] bitsyrant.livejournal.com 2010-06-16 12:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Someone needs to get the rewrite and make this into a supernatural romance where Mega Python and Gator-roid fight for the affection of a generic every woman. I would totally be Team Gator-roid because Mega Python is so totally emo and his fans don't understand the dark, complex love that a steroid/robot gator thingie shares with a young, thin, white girl.

No, no, this is Hollywood, so she's gotta be idealized, which would make her Japanese.

[identity profile] anotheranon.livejournal.com 2010-06-16 01:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Clearly high art, this. I will bet you good $ that it's SyFy.
