[livejournal.com profile] bifemmefatale's 16-year-old daughter has run away from home in the Chicago-area. She is currently believed to be heading towards a Rainbow Gathering in Carbondale, IL.

Her family is very worried about her. If you can take a moment to take a look at this picture and keep an eye out for her, that would be good.

I have some friends in that area with potential community overlap. Have mentioned it on Twitter. Need to double-check if they're there; if not, I may do a brief LJ thing too. Hope "FoaF" was ok.

I'm glad to see this is getting so much traction on LJ/FB. Thank you for being one of the ones to carry the signal.

And WTFF is with the people who are like "embrace your kid's running away with the clothes on their back, it will Be a Good Experience!" ?

I ran away from home when I was fifteen, too. It was the best way out of a terrible situation, and it taught me to be self-reliant and showed me the value of myself after a childhood spent in abusive circumstances. This does not sound like that to me at all. I know I'm on the outside looking in, but leaving your bags behind and taking off with two guys for a gathering that's a month away... it doesn't wash.
