Okay, I couldn't think of a single one. NONE.

Unless you count Susan B. Anthony, I only know her birthday because I share it. And Galileo.

I share a birthday with Rock Hudson, Gordon Lightfoot, Lauren Hutton, Martin Scorsese, RuPaul and Danny DeVito.

The only ones I know off the top of my head are
Mark Hamill Sept 25 (my nephew's and 5 days before my dad)
Harrison Ford, July 13. (2 years older than my dad)
Errol Flynn, June 20, 1909 (the centennial was last year)

And now we know what kind of geek Angel is.

Hmmm. I ticked "don't know any" but then realised I do know a couple - at least minorly famous - broadway people's bdays (a composer, a director and a couple actors) and a few writers because they are friends. Does that count? That wasn't an option in your "why do you know this". Also I forgot they are famous:)

I was mostly trying to get away from the "people we happen to know who happen to be famous" part of the equation (a situation which applies to me and lots of people I know as well). I only really put an answer for that in the last question, because I am TERRIBLE at designing polls.

I barely remember anyone's birthday!

I remember mine, my mother's, my roommate, and my newest nephew because we're a three day cluster, roommate/my mum same day. I remember my brother's and my sisters, and sometimes my father's.

Everyone else of import is in my phone's calendar with reminders.

I can barely remember my family's birthdaysl, never mind those of people I've never met so my answer to the first question was none and the rest didn't apply. I did get curious though and looked my own BD up on wiki - apparently I share it with Christopher Eccleston, among a host of other people I've never heard of, which is cool I guess?

There's always Beethoven's birthday, as made famous in some really old Peanuts comics, with Snoopy and/or Schroeder carrying signs saying "[number] days until Beethoven's birthday"... other than that, no. (Well, the Ides of March, but partly because it was also my mother's birthday, giving added meaning to "Beware the Ides of March"...)

I ticked less than 5, although I know that I've known more than that in the past (and perhaps could think of a few more if I really applied myself). The only celebrity birthdays I could think of off the top of my head, however, were:
Gareth David-Lloyd
J. K. Rowling
Dean Cain

GDL I remember because he's three weeks older than I am, and a few days younger than a good friend of mine. J. K. Rowling is easy because she gave Harry her birthday. (I probably know the birthdays of more than five Harry Potter characters.) And Dean Cain is one that I would have forgotten (I had a huge crush on him when I was 14-15) if it weren't for the fact that he shares a birthday with Rowling.

ETA: I just remembered two more! Abraham Lincoln (Feb 12th) and Barack Obama (Aug 4th). The first I remember because it's in Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure (which I haven't seen since I was a teenager, I think), and the second because it's the same day as my dad's birthday.

when I answered the pole, I was thinking of the five famous folks I knew who shared my birthday (Supreme Court Justice John Roberts, Lewis Carroll, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Donna Reed, Frank Miller) and the one I used to claim when I was a teenager because I had a huge crush on him even though he was actually born the next day (Alan Alda). Oh, and Mozart, but he's so long dead I figured I only got half credit for him.

Then I spent some time cheatingcommuning with google and found out that I also share my birthday with Allan Cumming, Bridget Fonda, James Cromwell, Hannah Teter, Margo Timmins, Mike Patton, Janik Gers, and a whole slew of professional football players. And Philip Glass was born three days after I was.

I know Douglas Adams's birthday. It was floated as a potential permanent date for Towel Day after he died and that information just stuck, I guess.

I share a birthday with the footballer Michael Ballack, but I forgot that when I filled in the poll. And Martin Heidegger and Steve Buechele, who was the Cubs' third basemen when I was a kid. I've taken a peek at Wiki and I apparently share a birthday with the German soap actor Thore Schölermann, a fact which I am sure is now burned into my brain.

Oh and I know Hitler's birthday. It, er, came up in German class once and stuck in my head. Sometimes I worry what people think when I bust out random Nazi trivia.

Elvis Presley was born on my mom's birthday. Hey! She was first!

And Bobby Sherman (squeeeeeee!) and I share a b'day. I was soooo tickled to find that out when I was, ya know, 11 or so, lol.

And Mick Jagger just because he's Mick Jagger, ya know?

One of those memories

I not sure if this counts, is relevant, interesting, or not, but I have a tendancy to know the birthdays of commonly known people, living or dead, if they happen to fall on the ides of the month.

Paticulary if it is not in March, July, October or May.

I simply remember thinking that that person might not know/have known this. The longer someone has been dead, of course, the less likely this is to have been true.

I sort of sent a card to a celebrity once. When I was in my teens I had this favorite band for a while and was mildly involved in the bandom for it. When one of the band members had a birthday, some people were putting together a scrapbook to give him. I sent in a poem to be included in it. I've blocked out the memory for the most part, and I don't think I'll try to drudge that one up in my poetry notebooks. The funny thing is, I can't remember which band member it was.

I know some of my favorite writers' birthdays, and try to acknowledge them to some extent, but most of them are dead now. So no embarrassing birthday cards/poems.

I usually don't pay too much attention to celebrities' birthdays. Not these days, anyway.

I probably know about 50, just from reading bios and such; probably another 20 or so fictional characters'. Never sent anyone a card, but I occasionally post birthday wishes here (and did so today, just before reading this).

At least I've met the musician... it that somewhat less creepy?

I could only think of one celebrity birthday, this being George III, related to my childhood indignation at sharing a birthday with him.

I do tend to join the chorus of cheer when a celebrity celebrates a birthday on Twitter, but the dates don't stick in my head.

Edited my poll response, now that I see that this was intended to be living celebrities. None, then!

I share my birthday (September 27) with Gwyneth Paltrow, Avril Lavigne, Shaun Cassidy, Meat Loaf, actors A Martinez and Patrick Muldoon (he's my exact age!) the late William Conrad and other people I'm sure. Olivia Newton-John is the day before and Catherine Zeta Jones is two days before (again, exactly my age except for the said two days). And to be morbid, James Dean died three days after (well, and fourteen years before).

I remember some others because of various things including shared with people I'm close to, but can't think of them off the top of my head right now :)

...Can we just say my adolesence was extended? I was sending Michael Monroe (Hanoi Rocks) not just cards, but vintage vinyl and other gifts into my early 20's. I wonder if he ever actually got them-I never got a note back.

I now think this is mildly creepy!

ETA: And I share my birthday with Adam Lambert. Yay.

The only celebrity birthday I know that isn't shared with me or a relative is Keira Knightley. I looked up her birthday to find out who was older (she is, by about 2.5 months).
