I am currently sitting in the New Haven train station waiting for my Amtrak back to the city after the Regency Assembly. Free wi-fi and a collaborator being all "I WAS JUST WRITING YOU A SONG" on Twitter for the win.

The Assembly, which I was, frankly, in no mood for because I'm so busy and overwhelmed was awesome. Crowded, delightful, funny and well-dressed. Somewhat more diverse than it's been in the past. Good to see people I never see and should always be talking to more. And people had FUN.

I was sort of casually network-y, which is kinda hilarious, as I am a terrible networker -- the tragedy of my existence is that people scare the crap out of me. But folks were like "I'm working on this thing!" And I was all "well you should check out this and this resource, and you can totally do this, it doesn't matter if you haven't done it before, and if you need a way to get it on the stage, bring it to me when you think it's ready," and it was like "Oh, here, have some ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE; it's contagious."

There was also this great moment where I was using the "I would sell my soul" metaphor, and Meredith said, "You know, you never really hear about all the times where that works out okay. The Devil's going around trying to buy souls, and it's really hard, because there's all this bad press." We decided that is an awesome story idea, and she said if I think of anything to do with it, I can have it. Be amused. In my head, it's like an alternative universe Damn Yankees.

Anyway, I am going to try to sleep as late as I can tomorrow, because I need it (I'm also going to sleep on the train home) and because tomorrow will be hard. Lots of recording for ItM and then it's off to the NYMF party (my dress if frothy, FROTHY!), and then I have an early day at work on Monday.

I am also trying to figure out if it's reasonable to try to shove in seeing Bourne's Swan Lake before I leave the country. I could do Thursday, but I'm wonder if it's necessary, considering the amount of stuff I'm juggling right now.

This may not help your decision making at all, but I *loved* Bourne's Swan Lake when I saw it earlier this year. Totally and utterly. I found it incredibly moving. If you don't have time/energy, it will probably come around again. I do think/hope you'd enjoy it.

I was caught by Bourne's Swan Lake as well, but it was more in a Jason Bourne as the prince kind of way.

OMG, Bourne's Swan Lake. That's my favorite ballet regardless, but the Bourne version (I saw it several years ago in Denver) is - I don't even have words. Beautiful and heartbreaking far beyond what the original is capable of. I highly recommend it, if not this time, sometime.
