Today is Remembrance Day or Veteran's Day or Armistice Day, depending on where you are. I didn't quite catch up with this fact until late in the day, so despite being in Switzerland, I went out into the car park at dusk and sang quietly to myself, because, er, I do things like that. Not an anthem or anything like that, just sounds. Thank you to everyone who's served or serves. National agendas are murky beasts and war is ugly business, but whether you choose or are chosen, to put your life on the line, the sacrifice must be noted and honored. Thank you.
dr_is_in is still $1,000 short for covering the expenses for her late husband's cremation and service. If you can help, it would be a great good thing if you did. Never underestimate the value of a singe dollar in these circumstances -- it's not just 100 pennies, but a message that you believe.
In light of those two items, Theater Thursdays will be taking place tomorrow, Friday.
Less glamorous than it sounds: responding to a call from your new personal cruise rep with a suggestion he call back in December, when you're back in the States. My life feels like a very elaborate series of play pretends sometimes.
I am going to the opera tomorrow, and I can't wait for that moment when I walk into that space and just get to look up. It's one of the most supreme joys of good seats at the theater.
LESS THAN 48 HOURS UNTIL I SEE PATTY. Yes, please.
"I want to know the laws. I don't want to know the leniencies."
That quote so speaks to me today. I keep asking people what they need getting answers in maybes and whatever you want to make it work. I don't want you to try to make it easier for me, I want you to give me the exact parameters and let me make it work.
