Patty things
Jan. 16th, 2011 11:20 amBriefly communicatedwith Patty last night via text message. She gets no days off on the dig! But now I know when I can call her and it was good to hear form her.
In Ohio we went to dinner at the house of one of Patty's closest friends. We do this every time we're in Ohio, it's always a blast, and it feels like a sort of general fail that we only manage this one a year.
You can also faintly see what I got for holidays from Patty -- which was my ears repierced. They had closed up, and it was annoying to me on those ocassions when I am dress-up girl. I got it done with a 14-gauge nedle, so I can actually put weird, thick piercing jewelry in them, and I've been wearing those horseshoe shaped circular barbells til they heal because they don't necessarily code as female.

Date: 2011-01-18 10:10 pm (UTC)That is my favorite book in the entire universe and I commissioned my roommate to make Alec and Richard bears to give to Ellen.
We take the characters out and play with them every so often, but have never written anything as formal as fanfic. Although we swiped Anthony Lindley out of The Fall of the Kings and worked him into our original universe because we felt he needed a happier ending. Ellen and Delia professed delight at hearing this when I sheepishly admitted it -- they said SOMEBODY ought to give him a happy ending, and were glad that I'd cared enough.
