I've been thinking about not being chattel a lot lately. For various reasons, RIII and I don't wear our wedding rings most of the time, preferring to say that we wear them in our heads.
That's our choice, but I've often been hit on and had guys get pissy with me when I tell them I'm married but don't have a ring on.
Because I wasn't wearing my chattel mark, I was fair game and it pissed them off that they didn't know that when they first spoke to me.
