I may be getting an eye infection. Or it just may be annoyed. Either way, I don't have time for it and it is causing me stress.

Why might I not have time for it, other than the obvious? Well, we lost a member of our dance chorus today for A&G, so now I'm in it. Yes, I'm in an opera. Just dancing. But in an opera.

Which is a fact that clearly states little other than the universe, while it may not be interested in encouraging me, is certainly interested in encouraging my sense of humour.

I'm at a horrible Internet cafe in Times Square.

We're having the first lovely day in NYC in longer than it seems I can remember, and so I can't bear to be in the theater early. I've been wandering the theater district instead since about 2:30 -- I bought shirts for my headshots, felt fabulous and had a very funny conversation with someone in Texas (that got cut off due to weak cell phone battery just as I explained to her (joking! joking!, well a bit) that all Brits are perverts on some level) and read a bit more of Child of a Dream, which I am finally almost done with. When I have more time and quiet, I need to rant about that, because it's one of the most interesting and frustrating books I've ever read (and I fully expect the final two in the trilogy to follow suit). It'll be a great movie though, certainly, better than it's been as a book (something only partially attributable to the vagueries of translation and cultural quirks).

I don't know what possessed me to come in here, other than my legs were tired and it seemed better to do this than eat sugar (I'm trying not to have any between now and the headshots -- something that's proving remarkably difficult).

I also must note that this is the third season in a row where my brain and current fashion has been in sync, which is fairly mindboggling considering the sources of my fashion ideas (invariably things obscure, wildly inappropriate or the big trend several years ago). That said, I did stop myself from acquiring more white linen and Indian influenced things than anyone would know what to do with while at H&M earlier.

Going to wander through Times Square now, be entertained by theater crowds and then go face my theater. Happy happy joy joy.
