it's all copacetic
Jul. 20th, 2003 06:41 pmIt is, as ever, an adventure a minute here. The stage managing gig is going well. They hired two people, I was the more experienced and just authoritative with people, so I'm the main SM, and the other fellow is the light board/ASM guy. So far so good. Today we painted stuff, talked to the production SM of the show who's space we're using, did a run and dealt with a billion logistics. I know what I'm doing, and I'm being let alone to do it, and people with British accents like me. It's enough to make a girl swoon, really it is. Also amusing is that scenes I've done are in the showcase, and it's just interesting to see other people come at them. Also, we've determined that cheaper than ordering catering for the event is to have me just put together platters, so that's what I'm doing. It's sort of fun.
Amanda got engaged last night, which I think came as a surprise all around. But it's all good now and if nothing else serves to explain exactly why I was as amused with Pirates of the Caribbean as I was, and additionally gives me a long-overdue excuse to harass her fiance. Math is hard and we like it that way.
Audblog is a captivating little devil and my next stuff using it will probably be my poetry, or monologues, or even just something pre-written. I don't really know yet. Certainly hearing people's reactions to my voice as "cute" is interesting, as it is a) positive and b) in a range I don't tend to consider. I'm cute? I'm cute!
I didn't think I was over-taxed with people today, I was just efficient and happy to be so, but now that I'm home.... oh good god. Desire to hide. But... must do dishes, change the cat litter, bake cupcakes, call my girl, and all that good stuff.
