Jul. 23rd, 2004

Despite getting not enough sleep yesterday, things are not bad.

Held to my resolve and actually worked out last night. Does wonders for the posture.

Found a website by accident about making chainmail and that's obsessing me now (hello, if there was ever something appropriate for the long hours of background boredom this is it... also, I AM A GEEK).

Slept on my hair wet, and it's sort of offensively curly now, and I'm painfully amused enough that I'm going to let it be for the day.

My Republicans for Voldemort t-shirt arrived. Let's see who tries to fight with me on the subway.

Today's BPAL scent is The Apothocary.

Had a funny web conversation that yielded things that aren't funny to anyone but me. I keep chuckling over one particularly innocuous line.

Humid as the devil here.
Getting to work today was bloody awful... someone said a train hit someone? Anyway, no F service so I took the bus and there was an _awful_ accident on 23rd and they were trying to pry someone out from under a cab.

Been singing The Seven Deadly Virtues all day for no apparent reason, other than it's funny. Of course, that's a slippery slope, as I think Camelot is the only show I've never done that I know every single bloody song from (which is really stupid because the only female role worth a damn is something out of my vocal range -- it's simply a show I will never ever get to do in any universe).

Too hot in the office.

Have two freelance assignments to do this weekend, as well as two rehearsals, seeing someone from out of town, catching up with online stuff, really needing to catch up with a couple of people on the phone, and making sure I've got my 80s formalwear together for the Game Six extra-ing on Monday, which I think is a night shoot, which means I'll work that day as well.

Have to do a lot of website updates too, and expect to be up too late tonight mucking about on the dreaded Internet.

Also, yesterday at the shoot there was a four month old Italian greyhound. Historically, I've had an aversion to the creatures because my aunt owned one that would yowl for hours if she left the house (even if others were there) and just be jumpy and fragile and scary and lick food from her mouth and it was yucky. But this was the sweetest, cutest, most friendly dog in the world, and he decided he was my friend. Normally my reaction to dogs is "eek!" or "*pat* *pat* you seem to be a dog, how peculiar", but this little guy was awesome.
Michael (not the one I usually write about, the one I refer to as The Gypsy sometimes) of all people just called me while I was napping. They are putting out a Best of Chtulhu Sex ( http://www.cthulhusex.com/ ) Anthology, and one of my stories will be in it... so he's emailing me the contract. And he told me they've got an actual Giger piece on the cover of the next issue -- this seems impossible when I think back to the drunken club conversation that spawned the existence of this publication.

It seems I'm having a pretty good week.
