It is not raining. This feels like a miracle.

Now: post office, work, sewing.
Go into a shop today to get a sandwich to bring to work.

I hand the guy a twenty. He says, "Okay, see you."

"No," I say, "I need my change."

"It's a joke!" he says, chiding me.

"Yes, but it's a joke that implies that I am stupid, and you are a thief. Since I know I'm not stupid, how about you go zero for two and give me my change?"

Also: Everyone employed by the USPS? Screeching morons.

For the record, I've had people say antisemitic things to me before, but like, conversationally. You know. "Oh, you're such a Jew" or some bizarre inaccurate assesment about Jews thinking I wasn't one. But never with anger. Just stupid superiority, which is what most people do about all sorts of people all the time. I'm not saying it's not bad, I'm jsut saying it's unremarkable. common, and not even very alarming.

I've never had anyone just scream at me, "You Jew!" as if I needed no insults, as I was already the worst thing a person could already be.

I suppose I'll eventually find this illuminating.
