Dec. 30th, 2006

Christmas may be endless, but at least it's good.
This is going to be a long one:

- marzipan pig acquisition (or, if this fails, fabrication)
- post office
- work
- home depot
- other work
- come home and write two articles (one of which will be easy, one of which probably won't)
- fencing practice stuff (because tomorrow will be blown, the first will be blown, the second I'll want to rest before actual class on the third, but the gap between Thursday to Wednesday is just fatal if I do nothing, especially as there was one footwork thing I learned on Thursday that almost made my poor little left-handed brain explode and if I don't practie it, it will be gone gone gone).
- Descensus!
- posting the last 4 chapters or whatever it is of Ghosts all in one shot, because I want at least some of this done done done before the New Year).
Little boy: "Then how do people die if they don't get shot?"

I'm merely thankful, that unlike a bevy of other disturbing questions about death recently posed, this wasn't directed at me.

in summary

2006 did not go according to plan, and it would be very easy for me to feel extraordinarily angry about it. And don't get me wrong, some days I do.

That said, it is worth noting that I got paid to write, often, and even published some poetry for the first time in years. I also got paid to act, and folks finally got to see my ass three feet wide and luminous, which is just funny, thanks to Fur.

I may not always be able to sit gracefully with the vagueries of my life, but I do sit with them; and my awareness of status may also give me an edge that I too easily turn against myself as opposed to the world at large.

But even the stupidest person in the world knows that "Everything went wrong and then I learnt the sword" sounds like the beginning of a book and not the end.

I've got plans and gluten-free pigs for tomorrow, and this is really all I have to say about any of the past year.

And so ever onward.
I've gotten about 80% of what I needed to do today done, even one of the articles. I have more work to do now, but look for a late night update on [livejournal.com profile] descensus_hp and some of the dreaded Ghosts here in the next 16 hours or so.
