Maybe I'll be feeling more charitible later. Or when we get [livejournal.com profile] pornish_pixies back (note: the reason I cite this community isn't "oh you took away my porn" -- I never even read the community. But LJ in its apology seems to be trying to make itself the arbiter of what is art and what sort of dark art has the right attitudinal perspective. This scares the crap out of me. The restoration of something like [livejournal.com profile] pornish_pixies will speak to LJ deciding not to play that game.)

Many of you know I was seriously unhappy with LJ's first apology. Their most recent news post indicates how vast a restoration of accounts they are doing, and I have to say, I'm a lot happier.

BUT, Six Apart/LJ still has a lot to do to make me calm down. These things include:

a) making things right with users who have been branded pedophiles across the Internet (free journal rename tokens and public apology listing all wronged journals at minimum).
b) retraction of the CEOs statements claiming the right and ability to evaluate of what is art and academic study.
c) restorion of [livejournal.com profile] lolita07. Thank you!
d) answering questions about where gay users stand in light of the continued phrasing about banning journals that encourage illegal sexual activity.
e) an admission that they outright lied to users at the beginning saying this wasn't going on.
f) a better explanation of why this happened how and when.
Despite it not startin until tomorrow, i am noodling away at my [livejournal.com profile] novel_in_90 This is, of course, the same project that has plagued me for years now -- the thing that grew out of A Certain Education, the thing that I called Strings and tried to have the discipline to work on totally independently, etc.

I found a weird entrance point into it -- if ot structurally, from a thinking about the world and the people way, and it seems to be going much better. Regardless. One can't really do anything but move forward with [livejournal.com profile] novel_in_90 so I'll get a first draft done, and then if I want to rewrite the whole thing in a different voice, I'll deal with that then.

For those more familiar with the project, how fucking hillarious is it that I'm working on it here after/during the recent dramarama?

Meanwhile, are you interested in seeing it as it develops? I'm going to be posting it in pieces as I write them to a friendslocked (free) journal or maybe as a filter here. The deal is though that there will be a time for vicious fucking editing of this thing, but this won't be that time. What I need is cheerleading, and people commenting on what they like, and people who are also willing to give hard ciritical looks at things when I ask for it. But the goal isn't to be error-free right now. The goal is to be convinced that each day of this bloody thing is worth doing with the large messes that will certainly be present in it in the beginning to be cleaned up later.
