Personal note: My maternal grandmother and her sister both died of breast cancer; a cousin aged-forty on my father's side of the family died of breast cancer; my ex's mother died of breast cancer; last year my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer (she's doing well!); I have friends who are fighting breast cancer or have kicked its ass in the past.
